Garage fridge

While conducting my Sous Vide rib experiment yesterday, I did some cleaning in the garage, and decided to give the fridge an overdue cleaning.

I will keep it well stocked with beer while keeping plenty of space for food for the grill and smoker.

I literally just did the same a couple of weeks ago. It's only real use is for beer and wine though the small freezer does get used when I find deals on meat.

My garage refrigerator is 20 yrs older than me, it's a 1940s GE. It's by far the coldest refer I've ever had. The drinks out of that thing are amazing, I swear it's a different kind of cold. Granted it probably cost 3x more to run than a new refer, but I don't care, I'm gonna die before this sucker does. By chance it does die before me, it will be made into a cold smoker, for sure. I absolutely love the thing. In the summertime around here it can be 115 degrees plus in our garage and that thing still keeps things ice cold.
They don't make things to last like that these days, everything is made in China disposable trash now. I use it to store drinks and age my ducks, geese, beef, and for making bacon. I love the thing, because it just keeps on working, and working well.. I wishI had another one to make a kegorator out of it. The freezer is just big enough for six ice cube trays, maybe. I really need to defrost the little freezer, maybe I'll get lucky and find a bottle of Tito's in there, it's frozen shut right now.

It was the refer my mother grew up with. It survived the Port Chicago munitions base explosion. And has a big dent on top from a 2x4 stud that blew out of the wall of my Mom's house. They lived 10 miles from the munitions base.

Haven't seen that for years! I generally keep a supply of Pabst, Gennessee Cream Ale, Labatt Blue and Blue Light, Old Milwaukee and occasionally some IPAs...

I drank so much Genny Cream in teen years I can barely stand it now!
Labatt Blue and 50 good stuff. Don’t see it a lot down here.

My beer/overstock fridge usually an assortment of 4 or 5 among Yuengling, Corona, Landshark, Guinness, Moosehead, Blue Moon, Smithwick’s (when I can find), Killians, and Sam Adams.

lol i have the first fridge in my kitchen. the second fridge we had in a shed by fire pit when i was a kid. ours was green though.

i have a fridge and a freezer in my garage but neither plugged in. plans yet to come for both.

My dumba## let my tapper fridge go when I moved decades ago. I never should have let it go. I now it would still be running, even if beer and me don't get along anymore. Young and dumb.
