With all the health stuff going on, my son inlaw (the intelligent one not the "other one") recommended I try Function lab testing. Its a little spendy, but ins wouldnt pay for all the test they offer as a package anyway. I have enough health crap that I figured it couldnt hurt to see if anything more is f'ed up. $365 for a year, two round of testing. 160 tests. its an annual fee, cancel anytime.

So I pulled the trigger. So far about half the results are back and looks like I have a few more issues to chat with my PCP about.

Figured I'd through it out there as I hadnt heard of till SIL brought it up. I'll ponder if I want to keep doing it year over year.

Well, it sounds useful but....continuous stress levels may make it problematic.

Like screening for prostate cancer. Had a scare a few years ago with elevated PSI and then where both a biopsy AND a targetted MRI found-----nothing.

SO, it's a slow grower once found and then it'll kill ya in 20 yr. I'll be dead before 20 yr is up so now no more tests and I'm a

"don't worry/be happy" kind of guy.

That sh!t is no different than constantly researching everything you think might be wrong with you.I'd be curious as to know what you thought might be wrong with you and if there was any expectation on your end of a "clean" test as I guarantee you were never going to get that.

Always remember this: "They can't make money off of healthy people." Once you achieve the standard of health set forth the metrics change and once again you become "unhealthy".

That was $365 better spent on something that would've brought happiness into your life.

Lucky you. Same with the rising PSA, but the biopsy found that I have prostate cancer. I would rather know whats coming and try to stay ahead of it.

I get what you are saying, but I have several medical issues. Most are being treated but some dont have an obvious cause. The knowledge of how I am doing physically will make me happy.

I truly hope you are correct.

The knowledge of how I am doing physically will make me happy.
They are not doing any physical examination on you. They are banking on your happiness.

I've seen this way to many times with friends but in particular with my father (96) and in the end there was still an end and way to much misery in between chasing symptoms to the point he needed three Sunday through Saturday pill organizers, pill splitters/crushers,injections and all to live more than a decade completely miserable to which was mostly caused by everything "they" told him to do.

Best of luck to you and I mean that but you will never see me ever go down that road.

Much appreciated.

Its not for everyone for various reasons. Im not selling it or looking for kickback, just threw it ot there in case anyone else hadnt heard of it and might find it interesting.

Enough said on my part.

Dave sorry to read this I'll pray you get it all figured out ands things are good

Dave , very sorry about this.
Do everything you can. Tests , consultations, more check ups. Whatever it takes.

This $hiT sucks.

David
thanks David, I'll post up more info later on this.

Functional lab testing can get to root causes more effectively that routine testing by a main stream medical doctor. If you want to interpret your results, a great book is Common Sense Labs by Ken D. Berry M.D.

Thats why i figured it was a good idea for me, after my SIL showed me his results.

My career was in medical laboratory testing. All kinds, started in hospitals, eventually moved into infectious diseases for the later 15 years. The issue is ins doesnt like to pay for mass testing. I had to pay $50 at my physical for a couple of tests the ins says "are not part of a physical"...I try not to get worked up about them, but sheesh. Its like one of the meds my cardiologist prescribed, ins will only pay for it after a heart attack, I am on it to try to avoid one.
