From Florida Wanting to step up the BBQ game

In the past just tinkered with smoking using a very cheap smoker, Just purchased a used smokintex 1400 for 150USD and want to see if I can step it up with some decent BBQ. Hoping the forum will give me insights on making great brisket and other cuts.
