Had a perfect day on the lake.... Set 10 pots out for a 5-hour soak and we hit pay dirt baby! Averaged 17 crawlers per pot.....

The "haul"

One pot had the bonus catch.....a yellow perch.... that was so freaking cool!

170 babies fillin the cooler...

Had to make a line up of the lobsters..... (got about 20 this size....)
IMG_4217.jpeg

Just for some perspective....added a larger average sized one in (4-5 inches)......
IMG_4218.jpeg

This monster is massive at 9.5-9.75 inches......

talk about claws!!!!

Mixed up crab boil pot, water, chicken base, white vinegar, cajon seasoning, old bay, 2 lemons, onion, Woster sauce, soy, hot sauce and lemon pepper...it is SUPER flavored...... the final platter......
IMG_4247.jpeg

a full-sized food service tray was needed, and it wasn't even big enough....
IMG_4249.jpeg

A mountain of freshwater lobsters from the fresh mountain waters.....

Oh and the bonus catch while hanging out for the soaking..... We also caught a bunch of bass but put those back in the lake.... Perch and Trout were keepers though!!!

Nice sounds like ya had a great time to go with your success, excellant looking eats

I think that's the biggest crayfish I've ever seen! I pulled many out of small creeks and streams in WA & OR when I was a kid.

Dang that's a great haul and great looking pan! I wasn't aware they could grow that big! Thank you for sharing

The monster is the largest I have ever seen for sure! It was caught in our Crayster lake trap which "boasts" they catch big ones with their gate design..... Proof in the pudding...
Nice haul!

Ryan
Thanks Ryan!

We usually get one or two big ones but the number and the monster were a HUGE surprise!
Very nice! I’m jealous! 😄
Thanks CS!

I agree, nice haul. And the final platter looks great.
Many thanks MJB!
Man yellow perch and crawdads yessir. I've never seen crawdads that big.
Yea we actually had another nice perch the boy caught but as I was un-hooking to it spiked me and one flick and in the water it went..... :emoji_disappointed_relieved: so when we got the one in the trap it was like return karma in a good way!!
Dang! I think that is the biggest crawfish I have ever seen as well. Awesome day out on the water my friend!
Many thanks swamp..... There was some hooten and holleren going on as we pulled the pots for sure! It was mostly cloudy with a nice breeze and a little like rain so for a few mins so it was just relaxing!

Nicely done my friend!! Looks like a perfect day, great catch (bonus catch too), catch while waiting… and that feast! So glad you all had a great day on the water!! So awesome! 😎

Much appreciated rafter! It’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve been able to be “out of cell coverage”. That was the nicest thing!

Tonight was the fish fry! The boy and Mrs C wanted to try some kinders Italian panko…. So did the seasoned flour egg wash panko treatment on the fillets.
IMG_4255.jpeg

Into the large hex and some 335 peanut oil….. very quick fry!
IMG_4257.jpeg

After the perch the trout went in…..
IMG_4259.jpeg

Bingo these were put over a bed of pasta with some golden balsamic cream sauce Mrs C whipped up……
IMG_4262.jpeg

I’ve had trout every way from Sunday but have never had it in panko till now…..holy crap it was good that way! Gonna be doing it again if we score more trout!…..

We also had a bowl of crawlers we dipped in the sauce…..just heated a seasoned boil pot up to 170 and then let these seep for about 20 mins to get hot…..

We also have 4 “Packed full” gallon zip locks of crawlers in the freezer now for future eats!!! I can see a full boil happening again soon!
