Watching the games today and need food for our main game with the AFC. So here we are rolling a picnic shoulder, half skin on and injected with our pork injection. Skin side down and getting happy. This is at 150 just before wrapping.

The fresh picnic has become my new go-to rather than Boston butt. I spend some more time picking out the larger fat pockets when pulling it but I find the flavor to be so much better.

I like the different muscle groups it has. Plus the larger bones make for some nice soup!

The picnic is a secret, not many know or understand it, but it’s probably the best pulled pork and as well makes an excellent cured ham.

Got busy arguing with the refs last night and forgot to post the finish.

The pull.

The plate with homemade Spanish rice, pinto beans and roasted chopped green Chile over the pork. Was delicious.

Oh my, I just ate, but now I'm drooling again. Thanks for that...

Looks fantastic though! It was probably the easiest and best way to calm down from all the screaming at the refs. Hopefully it won't be as painful for the big game, otherwise you're gonna need a prime rib or two.

Boy that looks great Eric!!! Nicely done.

Point for sure
Chris

You may have lost the argument, but you won in the end with that meal.

Nice plate of food there Eric, and the rice to meat ratio is a little off lol

And that is how I like my pulled pork, bigger pieces , more of a broken up pork if you will

David

Almost missed this! Nice job Eric… looks really tasty! 👍
