Freezer Running Warmer

I have the nightmare model too. This is definitely one of those times extended warranty is worth the money. They’ve defrosted it for us a number of times, silicones the icemaker, replaced the icemaker at least twice now. They’re coming back tomorrow because the icemaker and water are totally frozen. If I didn’t have the contract I’d definitely try and follow the video. What’s surprising is the service company doesn’t do it. It’s gotta be cheaper than constantly sending out repair guys. Oh, they replaced the French door gaskets as well. They just throw parts at it, hoping one will be the fix.

You talking about the Samsung fridge ?
I had a 5 yr extra warranty on mine , and at that time no one would touch it . I'm talking 6 months in my trouble started .
My ice maker is frozen so solid I can't get it out any more . Only thing I didn't replace was the flap on the ice chute . I know it's letting warm air in the ice room .
I bought a counter top ice maker to solve a bad desinged fridge . Pisses me off I can hear it trying to run . Wish they had a way to shut the ice maker off .

I'll never own another Samsung fridge. Had constant issues with my fan icing up. I had it serviced at least 6 times before I threw in the towel. All covered under warranty and they covered beyond warranty too due to their design flaws. Only one repair guy in my area will touch them.

Yeah, the same Samsung in the video. Besides being pretty, it sucks. Switched away from Samsung completely. LG washer dryer, switched to LG TVs, switched to iPhones - kinda done with Samsung.

I have a Kenmore upright freezer around 10 years old. It is running about 17 degrees. It usually is about -5. It is maintaining 17. There is no adjustment knob. I guess its time for a new one.

Edit: I think I found a the adjustment knob on the lower back. I was looking for sensor and I turn thin round thing that might be controller. It had ice on it and when I went to scrap it off it turned and freezer came on. Will wait and see.
At least you’re aware of it and can plan for a BIG BBQ. I got busy and missed the demise of my garage fridge, didn’t even have a chance to throw a bbq. Worst of it was all my homemade sausage and smoked meats and cheeses were in there. Couple more weeks and you can have a giant 4th of July bash.

Oh my, I wish I'd seen this. I went through something similar with an upright I have here, Kenmore. It's not broke. It's normal.

There's a timer that let's the unit defrost and that's in the defrost cycle. There's a way to manually rotate the control but you need to pull it from the wall and get in behind it. There's a light-colored translucent plastic gizmo there with a knob on it that can be turned. Rotate that and the freezer will restart.

This is why for long term storage I never buy frost free freezers. Just clean em out once in a while. No more defrost cycles.

I've been wanting to get rid of mine , or use it downstairs . Problem is how do you know what to buy .
I just bought that garage fridge / freezer . wasn't worried about 900 bucks in the garage .

My Samsung is the bottom freezer . Has the deli drawer . The frozen evap drain would dump water under the tray , and I couldn't get it opened . Used to get 2 " of ice under it . The extended drain tab seems to have fixed that .

After Mike got me pointed in the right direction , I used this guy to get what I needed . Used them a few times for different items .
