Just love my food saver made these Rib Rub Packets just right for a rack of ribs and since they are vaccum packed they will last forever.

someone mentioned getting the bags at BigLots.............well......here in Des Moines, they must know of em.............

any clue where they keep em...........we looked kitchen section.......what there was of one.........the whole store.........is it a regional thing........or maybe a one time sale.........i KNOW.......big lots turns over what they carry every week or so.........thats what they are.........find a BIG LOT CHEAP and buy it..........so it just must of been a week they didn't have em........other wise........to use dirt poor folks.......can;'t afford em

Hey Red, those packets are a great idea.

Here's an add on to your idea (if you don't mind) using mason jars and the sealing lid that comes with the food saver (depending on model, I think). We use the food saver to seal dry goods (rice, beans, etc) and I've started using it to seal my rub to keep it fresh(er) between smokes. The wide mouth sealer came with my FS and I bought a small mouth sealer on the net for a couple $$$. Anyway, here's a couple of pics - if I can figure out how to post them...
