Hi Everyone!

Found a few porterhouse steaks in the freezer, so decided it was time for a Saturday night steak dinner…

Put them in a plastic bag in my go to marinade. Refrigerated over night then flipped them this morning and let them sit in the refrigerator till this evening.

Lit up the Weber Kettle and let sit for about 15 mins…

Spread out the coals and put on the grate for 2 to 3 mins so the grate was good and hot! The sun was going down and got some neat sun rays coming through the smoke!

Threw the steaks on and put the lid on, this was a very hot fire! My lid temp was just below 500* at one point!
Had some hot smoked bacon going on the OKJ offset…this was still at the cold smoke stage, so I’m running 2 smoke tubes in there!

3 minutes in and flip…

4 mins later flip back

Another 2 mins IT hit 130 on my wife’s steak and 126 on mine…this is by design, she likes hers a little more done than me…

Covered with foil and a towel and rested them for about 5 mins.
The cut shot! Look at all that juice! They were so tender you could almost cut them with a fork…

Plate shot with cooked broccoli and brown butter and a cheesy potato bake my wife did…

Pull up a chair my friends!!

As always, thanks for looking!

God bless…

That whole meal looks KILL'er!!!

When I first saw your plated shot, I thought the potatoes were eggplant Parm. I didn't have my glasses on. LOL.

Boy it sure does suck getting older, I now wear glasses and have hearing aids, Im slowly morphing into my father, which scares the crap outta me, love the man to death, I just don't want to be him quite yet. LOL!!!

Porthouse are my favorite steak by far. Once a year, mainly for my birthday dinner I buy an dry aged 2 1/2" P.H. from a Italian Butcher in San Francisco. It costs an arm and a leg but what the heck. It's so tender you don't needa knife. This chunk of beef is where I came up with my forum name. I used to be able to eat the whole steak in one sitting. No way in hell could I eat even half of it these days. I had a hard time eating a 16OZ piece of prime rib a baked potato and creamed spinach last night for supper. We ate at a friend's restaurant here in town.
It's boader line pethetic, Im almost twice the size as I used to be when I was in my prime, back then I could flat ouy EAT... LOL!!!

The steaks and meal looks awesome! Cheese and potatoes are as good as potatoes and gravy! Love the shot of the smokers... your yard smelled heavenly!
