After doing a little bit of reading here on the forums, I went down to Safeway and picked up some Tri-tip. It turns out it was on sale for $3.99 a pound (almost half off), so I decided to grab a little more than I normally would.

Garlic salt and pepper were the only seasoning I used, no "rub" on this one as I wanted to let the natural flavors come through. Cooked it for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours as my family likes things done more "well done".

Again, thanks for all the great tips along the way!

Nice smoke ring!  Glad they like the doneness level!  I prefer medium rare, but everyone has their preferences, and it's totally unfair to impose my preference over your's!  Great job that you were happy with the outcome; bet there was very little leftovers!

Love Tri Tip. Nice smoke ring too

Thanks for the comments guys! There were 0 leftovers as a matter of fact Pops LOL

I'll be doing up another one tomorrow for lunch (with some chicken thighs). Hopefully this time I'll manage to get a little more pink in the meat. I'll post pics as I go in a new thread.......
