First time injector - is my basic plan OK?

I have never injected any meat but bought an inexpensive injector to add some moisture+flavor to a turkey breast. I want to follow a simple plan - how is this?

  1. melted butter
  2. chicken broth
  3. some of the rub I'm using on the outside
  4. inject moderately
  5. let sit overnight
  6. smoke to 165

I don't have time to buy any special prepared marinades. Mom usually drowns her turkey in gravy anyway :D
 
You should be good with that. If you're using some of the rub, be careful about getting the needle plugged. Consider seasoning the broth with the rub, then straining it through a fine sieve before injecting.
