Looks like a good start and a good looking new rig.

I had a SQ36 for a couple of years before selling it last fall. It was a great rig, required a fair amount of attention, ate a lot of wood. I live in the desert so it was always more a battle to keep the temps down during summertime heat. Once you get it dialed in they hold heat well, need to be fed often, should serve you well, enjoy! Thanks everyone! I had a great time and was happy with the results. Sawhorseray, it did require attention and had a healthy appetite. Not certain how much was me being a newbie to stickburners and learning but it was fun!!!

Nice to see you liked it James, looks like your inaugural cook came out great! I most always used hickory splits, no charcoal. Your splits look to be about the perfect size, big ones just get the CC too darned hot. I did most of my cooks with the firebox door open anywhere from a few inches to a crack and it would roll nice TBS. I found once the side vents were set not to touch them and just control the heat with the firebox door. If you are a spritzer the time to do it is when you are adding some splits and waiting for them to catch, cuts down on the lookin'. It takes a bit to learn the ins and outs, it's a great rig and you're off to a great start! RAY
