A Holler in North Iowa
Here is the first batch of vittles in the new GOSM, doin two 3 pound pork loins and found a package of turkey drumsticks on sale at the store, so in they wen't to!

Here's a shot about 1:45 into the smoke, were at 125* and smells great! Been spritzen with a mixture of apple cider, ten high whiskey, water and some maple syrup.

Didn't bother with the chip box that came with the unit, using a 9X9 tin cake pan covered with aluminum foil, works better I think.

Looking great. I tried to put my thermalcouples from the door to. Til one got pinched. Now I feed them in from the top vent.
Nice job, I think you'll love your new smoker.
Andy.

there is a thread here on how to make a mod to easily place thermo couples thru the door or side wall, or top............now...........all we need to do is locate it

used a od wire fuse box coupling.........cheap enuff

WD: I seen that one too, will be doin that one next weekend, Just got her up and runnin this mornin and couldn't wait for some vittles!

Nice looking loin and legs! I know you've got to be happy with the new smoker. I have one like it and I love to use it. I also have a traditional stick unit (Charbroil Silver Smoker .... with mods). When I have the time and just want to relax with some close friends and a few cold ones, the stick is the way to go. But when we have folks coming over for the evening and I have tasks to do, I can set the GOSM and almost forget it while I get those tasks done. It's almost idiot proof.

Anyway, again congrats on the unit and may you have many many returns to the "Master Pitsman" role. Enjoy!

Tip;
Lookin good. keep feeding the Q-VIEWS and info. Is your unit the 20 inch model? I have been looking at them for about a week now, only problem is the Walmarts in my area do not have them in stock currently only have display models and they will not sell them. I am thinking of an online order from Wally world with free shipping to the store of my choice.

Mine is the 24 inch model, my store only had the one, and I really think it was a hold over from last year considerin the amount of dust on the box! It was only $30 more then the 20 incher. I am very disappointed in our walmarts bbq section this year, they have practically nothin! It is sad to say, but I think Shopko has more stuff! I've noticed that walmarts inventory and selection on alot of things seems to be dwindling, don't know if it is just our store or all over.

So far, I like this unit alot.

Rich: Just had one for breakfest! Mighty tastey and they were on sale cheap too! I love the things, see doin a bunch more in the future!
