Been gone on vacation the last week, got a little bit done tonight.

Got the wheels and door handle mounted up, looking good!

You can see the original plate for the wheels, they looked to close together so I extended them 2 inches compared to the front ones to help with stability. Shouldnt have a problem pushing it around now outside.

Just bent some threaded rod for the spring, tacked it on top and put a lock nut on the bottom. Nothing fancy but it will work

Had a good day today, finished the RF plate, got the stack on, and put the FB intake in. Everything turned out really good!

This has to be the sweetest thing on the whole smoker! Had a 90 degree drill attachment that we never use so we attached threaded rod on one end, ran it through some bushings on the intake opening, welded a nut to the bushings and make a quick door tracking out of metal rod and flat stock! The thing turned out sweet!

Close up of bottom. Put a tab on the bottom of the threaded rod to help keep the door straight

Close up of top, with a quick made handle

As she sits tonight

still looking good. i like damper hand crank. then you can tell whoever to go open it 3 cranks or whatever and they will know how much. talk about walk off and leave it. you can call in the directions. after you get the feel of how it reacts.

happy smoken.

Got the top grate done, put a shelf on the bottom for some wood, washed it off (thin layer of rust started, going to paint it soon!) and got my drip pail in!

Welded a small hook on my pipe to hold my pail, nothing fancy but looks rustic

As she sits now! Almost done with it. Have to straighten the lid a little up top, add a support piece on the top of the tank, inside, to make sure everything stays straight forever, put my temp gauge in (coming in 2 days) and make a wood shelf in front and around the side and we will officially be in business! Hoping to have my first smoke for the super bowl!

It's looking real good... lot of interesting ideas. I really like the clean look and placement of your chimney stack coming out of the smoker.

Nothing fancy done today, coated it down with pam and ran it strong for a few hours. Was at 300, maybe a snitch over at times. Everything has a nice seasoned look to it and it smells really good! Temp gauge should be coming tomorrow in the mail, as well as my seal (hopefully) so those will be put on as well as some paint if all goes as planned!

Stay tuned

Appreciate all the views, and the comments along the way! Temp gauge came, but still waiting on the seal and latches.  Suppose they will come tomorrow so we can wait and see! About done!
