For a rub you can try this

1 cup of Light Brown Sugar
1 tbl of Kosher Salt
1 tbl of Chili Powder
1 tsp Old Bay
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp cimmamon
1 tsp Ground Cayenne
1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
1 tbl Paprika
 1 tbl garlic powder

for a finishing sauce i have tried one from soflaquer and its pretty good...here's the link

Let us know how it turns out! Good luck!

Charger, I have been smoking meat for about 8 or 9 years now and I have yet to find a better rub or sauce than Jeff's Naked Rib Rub and his Goodness Gracious Sakes Alive BBQ Sauce, you can purchase the recipe for both of these here on this site!  I have used a lot of rubs and sauces in my time but Jeff's is by far the best I have ever used and the good thing about it you can adjust it or add a little here and there to suit your taste.  I know it would be easier if it were something you could run out to the store and buy off the shelf but believe me, Jeff's is the best out there and only takes a few minutes to whip up if you have all the spices!  It's worth every dime!

I agree Jeff's rub & sauce is a must have! Now at your leisure go over to the roll call section & introduce yourself so we can give you a proper welcome to SMF.
