It's been a while since I've been out here. Bought a Masterbuilt 1050 on clearance at home depot for $400. It was a demo already assembly. Was having a pot luck at work and tried some pulled pork.

Have to say it came out pretty good. Set temp at 255, was actual 238 on bottom grate, 245 on middle grate. Had to close the vent up on the back with some aluminum and a few magnets (have since added a back damper from Klotes) to get things to even out. Mixed hickory chunks in with the charcoal. Bought a few extension racks from amazon to get more room.

Started about 10 pm and let them go til morning. Finished in the afternoon. Sprayed with apple juice and added more rub every 2-3 hrs to build up bark.

Went about 16 hrs, no moving them around. No wrapping. 4 butts all finished about the same time 195 degrees. Tender and moist. Bark was sweet, spicy, cruchy. Big hit at the lunch.

Pulled them and added SoFlaQuer's finishing sauce.

Looks great! I say all the time it's hard to tell the difference between Q on my buddies 1050 and meat done in my Lang.

That sure looks to be some good eats right there Dave,

Point for sure

Love the dark bark and the 1050!
