Hi folks - I'm smoking my first little pork loin roast tomorrow, along with a bunch of chicken leg quarters. My kids and I love the chicken, but my husband is more of a pork guy. So....I bought a little 2lb. pork loin roast to throw on with the chicken.

So....should I just rub oil and seasonings on overnight, and then toss it on with the chicken? I'm planning to do the chicken leg quarters at about 240-250 on my MES. Will the pork be ok at that temp? Any idea how long it might take to cook? I'm thinking about cooking it to a temp of 165 then wrapping in foil for a bit.

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks!
Claudia

Go for it!  Keep an eye on the temp and just follow your gut on it and you'll do just fine. Most of us go a bit lower on pork but no big deal there where you plan to be.  Enjoy!

Is it a loin or tenderloin? Either way I would pull it out at 140, wrap it in foil, and rest it on the counter until the IT comes up to 145. Then slice it. You may even want to put some bacon on top to keep it moist. They are so lean, they tend to dry out.

It's a loin...pretty small. I'll wrap some bacon around it before I put it on the grill...thanks!

I was going to question that also, but have seen them cutting down loins into small packages now. Give it a nice marinade, then in the smoker till 145º like others suggest.
