First Custom 275gal Reverse Flow Smoker

Hey was able to work on the stack today. Question, do I really need to go taller on the stack? It’s a 5.5” OD on the stack and roughly 24” from top of CC to the top of the stack right now. I have another cylinder that I can weld to the existing stack. Just don’t know if it need to be that tall.
And forgive me but if I need to go taller why is that? What is the purpose of the taller stack? Just curious.

Update: finally getting to see the big picture. Had to redo the firebox door. But so far it’s coming together slowly.

I’ve haven’t been updating my build but here is “Prometheus” it’s 85 percent done. Came a long way.
