*YES....I did lick the plate to get all the tomato juice, mayo, and bacon grease....I will admit it...LOL!!!
I'd have done the same! Looks great. I'll be in for some BLTs soon with some Lewis Keto bread. Local Mennonite veggie stand has some delicious heirlooms already and I should be picking mine end of next month

Jealous
My Early Girl are still green golf balls. The Roma and Grape are still in blossom stage.

I may not get any Grape tomatoes this year as the rabbits have decided they are edible. They don't bother anything else in the garden. I'm going to cut the bottoms out of pails tomorrow to blockade them

Looks so good!

I came home tonight to find my two planters had fallen off the deck railing and spilled the four tomato plants & dirt on the deck below. :emoji_sob: It was raining today, and we must've had some strong winds. I scooped everything back into the planters, but the three small, green fruits that were doing well, did not survive. Hopefully the plants will recover.

Been very wet here last 3-4 weeks. And that makes tomatoes swell and crack. To combat rotting, I am picking tomatoes early at the breaker stage and letting them ripen on the counter. If they get a crack on the vine, the fruit flies are not far behind....they will rot and be gone in 2 days.

I can say that Aldi's thick cut bacon is pretty dang good. I tried both the pepper coated, and the maple bacon. Both were very good. And 24oz. for about $5 bucks, dang good price too. I now have 6 cups of bacon grease. Time for more Baconnaise (Homemade Bacon Mayonnaise)!

I have made BLT's 4 times since this initial post. Unfortunately our tomato plants are still in the flowering stage. I also have been spreading horsey sauce on them as well as adding avocado to them...sounds good to you Chris @gmc2003 ...lol

Only thing I add is a slice of sweet Vidalia onion!
Great looking sandwich!

Keith

That looks delicious! I swear that first blt of the season can't be beat!

I have been looking forward to this sandwich since I put salt to the slab back in Late January. This is bacon from the 1/2 pig I bought to make Salumi. The Lady I buy my yard eggs from gave me some of her fresh home grown tomatoes. I used Nature's own butter bread which is one of the more healthy options available. 2 slices =28g. carbs....but that is really the only carbs. I have had today to speak of. But Damn! Is this good!!!

nice, I have made 5 since this post. I like yours sans the Dukes...Can't take the "Twang"
Maybe try adding a bit of allulose sweetener to the Dukes? I under stand that diabetic craving for sweet. Best friends in Florida and one is diabetic and craves sugar.
We're not and my wife loves the lack of sugar.

it is not the sweet component that I miss. It just tastes off to me compared to Hellman's I had my whole life.

Looks great, got a pork loin in a brine and looking forward to smoking it later this coming week, not sure why I haven’t done it before as its super simple with pops brine.
