is 1/8" thick ok? for a 20x20 square 24" long firebox

!/8" is kinda thin for a fire box in my opinion.
You have to figure it's the part of the pit that gets the highest and most heat.

I think you'd be better with at least 1/4"

Well I dont know what kind of smoker you are building. Offset, vertical, ect. In general 1/8 for a fire box on a offset would be prettttty light.

reverse flow! thought it would be good there build wood stove from 55 gallon drums and there sheet metal!
