fire box or not?

I'm building a vertical smoker from an old air tank and trying to decide if I want a separate fire box or not.....what y'all think?

Can you post a picture of the tank?  It will help to give you a recommendation.

sskynard, evening....   a vertical smoker that has that small a diameter is a PITA.....  think about a horizontal SFB or RF smoker.... I think you will be happier with the way they cook.....  There's my 2 cents....

Thanks Dave, I have since acquired 150 gal tank and plan to build a SFB
