Long time lurker to the site, finally decided to join now that I have my first smoker.

Posting from Baton Rouge, LA, name is Ben

Recently purchased a BGE and looking forward to cooking up some delicious meats.

Have an above average skill level when it comes to cooking, my dad is a former chef so have picked up a lot of tricks from him over the years. Great on the grill, but have 0 experience in the world of smoking, with the only "low and slow" i've really ever done being some pulled pork shoulders on a gas grill.

Looking forward to getting some great advice for specific stuff instead of hunting and pecking as a lurker!

Really want to fire up the egg and do a brisket, started a thread on the beef board but have not gotten much feedback, would the charcoal smoker forum be a better place to start?

Thanks!
