I done! I replaced the controls (Savannah) , auger, fan, ignitor three times, added a diffuser and finally I'm over this piece of #*@! Last night I was fininishing up a batch of bacon and once more, the smoke came rolling up out of the hopper as the box temp went down. I refuse to take this thing apart and troubleshoot one more time. I plan on replacing with a Rec Teq 590 or Camp Chef same size. I read good things about both and I would greatly appreciate feedback on these smokers from guys like you who really use the stuff. Many thanks.

I have the same model. Aside from not producing as much smoke as I would like it has been fine. Bought in Jan. How long did you have yours? That’s a real bummer you had so many problems. A rec etc sure does sound good.

My son-in-law has a Cabelas re branded Pit Boss.
He is on the second replacement controller and a replacement auger drive motor.
Those issues are gone, but still keeps a stock of auger drive coupling bolts as they fail periodically.

I have a Camp Chef PG36, bought in April 2021. So far I'm happy with it. Recently did six pork butts in it, 18 hour cook. It's over 1200 square inches of grate room, with good headroom on the top grate. Has an ash cup for dumping, and a chute to empty the hopper if you want to change pellets. The only complaint, and it may not be a problem with the grill, is the Wifi connectivity can be finnicky. That may be my problem. Otherwise, it's bee good.

Grouch, do you have any Wifi extender in your setup?

The Wifi coverage in my PG24SG was flaky until I added a cheap TP-Link extender from Amazon.

I had to add the WiFi extender also. That took care of my issues.
We have one, plus some kind of wifi things on all three levels of the house. Sometimes it works perfect, sometimes not. I amazed the butcher at the shop by showing him pit temp, meat temp, and changed the temp from my phone. Sometimes I can connect from the kitchen, 15 feet away through a screen door. The times I've done overnight cooks it's worked great, I wake up every couple hours to check on stuff without getting out of bed. Others say they've had similar problems. Over all I guess it's minor, and if I knew anything about that stuff I could fix it.
