I have been smoking since 2015. I started with a small electric smoker, then a GMG pellet smoker. I had to sell it when I had to move into an Apartment. Now I will be moving back into a house. (I could have kept it in storage, but this is my reason to get a new toy lol) I’ve been reading about the new pellet smokers. I thought Trager, but I hear on here they moved to China and are not as good anymore. Reading posts, I see a lot of people like the REC-TEQ. I'm thinking the Deck Boss 590 maybe good. I'm looking for a smoker with a large bin so I don't have to add pellets a lot and thus can leave for a bit or take a nap if I'm cooking Brisket overnight. I also want one that will cook enough for 10-12 people. Max I’ve cooked for was 25, but that is not the norm. It's just my wife, and I so most of the time it will be small cooks.

What are your thoughts on this smoker considering my situation?

I have the "Stampede" 590, great smoker. Put lava lock around the lid and it has been bullet proof thus far.

I just bought a RecTeq 590 recently. First one was defective, 2nd one I have only used once but it seems to hold temp well, is solidly built and has plenty of hopper room. Customer Service is pretty good. So, overall I would recommend a RecTeq.

Haven’t had any problems with my 590
Depending what you’re cooking and for how many you may want the 2nd shelf

I got a 590 in early July. Have grilled quick and slow smoked many times since, everything came out good, easy to use. Even smoked beans, which come out delicious as well. Broccoli also grilled well at 400ish, came out delicious.

It is easy to clean, no rust anywhere, and has a large hopper for the pellets.

The app also shows you a chart of the temperature over time, which I find nice, lets me see when the temp went above expected for a certain period, which sometimes happens with pellets at low temp.

I recommend it, I think you'll enjoy it.
