Gonna make up a batch of Rosemary and Peppercorn EVOO from a recipe that I found. Anybody got a favorite brand that they use or one that they stay away from? I searched but didn't come up with much. Kinda figured it would be like paprika...once you use Hungarian there isn't much going back!

I use Bartillo I think thats how you spell it. As long as it extra virgin there all about the same I think.

i generally buy whatever is on sale, simply out of necessity, but i can say that some olive oils do taste better than others. this is more a matter of personal taste than of price, so my suggestion is to try several if you are able to and pick your favorite.

i have found that wal-mart's great value extra virgin olive oil both tastes great and also is priced well.

Yep, Bertolli is good, and the wife bought some lately that seems pretty good too...Star...never heard of it or saw it until now.

I'm not so sure, but, I don't think the brand name really doesn't matter with oils. The type and grade are where the quality is measured.

Good luck with the infused oil project!

According to a taste test on America's Test Kitchens of store bought EVOO that most of us could find they said Columela was the best. I've never tried it, so just passing along the info.

Good luck with your infusion.

We also use Bertolli.

Tried a cheaper brand once, we noticed it wasn't filtered as well, sediment in the bottle. The taste wasn't as good either.

Have used Bertolli for years, but recently switched to grape seed oil and love it.

I use Berio also.. They only had Reg OO last time I picked some up. Unless Berio is EVOO and it just says Olive Oil? I also got Central Market Roasted Pepper OO and I'm giving that a try on my taters when I slice and cook on the grill.

Costco does a in-house Kirkland brand that is very consistant and good. Best of all you get 2.5 liters for about $20-25 bucks. I buy a container every 3 months or so, and have a smaller pour bottle that I keep near the stove top for cooking. Works well and lots o' bang for the buck!
