Got a nice cool day to whip up some bread. I fed and discarded on the starter a couple times and got it real happy. I really need to do this every time, but I admit hadnt done it all the time in the past. It made a significant difference.

I added 20g of everything bagel seasoning to a standard 500g SD. The rise was amazing. cant wait to cut into it in a few hours.

That's a great looking loaf . Make sure to post a sliced shot .

You should do that everytime for sure . I " discard " into another jar and feed that for baking . Then I feed the starter jar .

I know...I got lazy. But the rise is so much better when I take the time. Going to do it right from now on.

Soon as I get back home, slicing will commence. Pic to follow.

Here are the first two slices. This might be the best pan loaf I have made yet. The texture, aeration, crust, flavor all better than previous. Im sure a big factor was doing the starter like I should have always done, and I cooked it about 5 minutes longer than previous because a few previous loaves were too moist in the center.

I'm gonna get some of that stuff and put it in my next Crusty Loafer bread I make and bake in a covered Dutch oven.

which brand did you use? Amazon carries lots of brands with the price/oz all over the map. They really don't look the same, either.
Wife got a big container at Kroger it’s the Kroger brand private select I believe but I’ve seen it at Costco as well.

Fantastic Dave, love the loaf, and the slice is just great.

Toasted with lots of butter for me please.

I have to get mine going again. But that will also mean I will have to work more because I eat way too much of the breads, lol

David

I've never done SD, but after your slice picture...I'm starting to think that's going to have to change!! Just beautiful!
