We are having a family get together over video while eating Easter Sunday Dinners at at own houses, its hard for the elderly as they struggle with the Technology. Will do our best.. Got Pork fillets in the smoker.

Life has changed a lot for us very quickly, like most people, kids lost their jobs, just holding onto ours.

The Chinese never even had shoot a bullet to destroy the economies of the World and our way of lives.. :emoji_disappointed:

This Pandemic is trying to ruin everything we hold dear and sacred. . .It has already ended many undeserving peoples' lives without regard to race, color, creed or age. Our doctors and scientists are working diligently to bring this terrible curse to an end.

With their dedication this too will end and we can all go back to the lives we have built for ourselves and our extended families. God bless the doctors and scientists who are battling this awful menace!

Happy Easter everyone and please continue to stay safe,

John

For the past many years Easter has not been a big family holiday for us. Not that we don't enjoy it, just the logistics of family being scattered all over the country makes it difficult. Having followed this thread, I'm heartbroken to see so many people who's family plans have been derailed over this God awful mess we are dealing with. It pains me to see all the folks who will not get to spend time with their families today. Not that it means much of anything at all but please know that my thoughts are with all of you. Please just try to make the best of it with what and who you're able to, and let's ll pray that this comes to an end pretty soon. Happiest Easter to each and everyone.

With a heavy heart,
Robert

Happy Easter to all my SMF brethren!

We usually do a nice dinner with the in-laws but we canceled that this year.

Have a rack of ribs dry brining to go on the smoker and a package of brats from the local butcher that has been in the freezer for awhile to toss on as well.

My Easter dinner plans got totally blown off course. I was going to do our formal dinner yesterday (Saturday) but decided to postpone it because of weather. Violent thunder storms, high winds, torrential rain, and damaging hail was in the forecast. Here we are today and plans are derailed again because of weather. I was gonna do a prime rib on the rotisserie of the Santa Maria. As fate would have it, it's just WAY too windy today to try cooking over an open fire. I need to get this thing cooked though before it goes south on me so doing it on the Rec Tec. Not my first choice but it'll still be good. So it's prime rib, grilled asparagus with butter, cranberries, and almonds, garlic mashed taters with homemade gravy (from the prime rib drippings), and fresh croissants. Not exactly the "simple and low key" Sunday dinner I'd planned but oh well....

This was a great thread and a nice lead-in to Easter. I very much enjoyed keeping up with this one. hope everybody had a safe, happy, and blessed Easter. It'll probably be nest Easter before I catch up on all the Easter dinner threads here :emoji_astonished:

Well Richie, as usual I'm just a tad late one this one.
Easter Sunday was also Miss Linda's birthday, so we had plans for a family dinner. Naturally, those got cancelled.
Miss Linda got to cook her own B-Day/Easter dinner--ham, scalloped potatoes, and cauliflower, but at least I didn't make her bake her own B-Day cake. Thought that was pretty big of me. LOL
We missed not having the SD and our grandson for Easter, but it was simply common sense to make that decision.
Our neighbor's daughter is a health care worker at a Calgary hospital. Her daughter is staying up here with the grandparents for the duration, so they all had Easter dinner together via Face Time. Set the computer up on the table at her usual spot.
Glad to hear that you and Aurea are safe and healthy, and great to hear good news from all the other members.
God Bless.
Gary
