LOL---"Low Key & Simple"???
This I gotta see. (Shaking my head with my paws over my face)

Just look for the thread ,
Low key and simple ( w / pics )

Hey y'all...just stop that now :emoji_laughing: Are you indicating that I might do something other than hot dogs for Easter...and maybe I'm getting a bit too predictable with my posts?? :emoji_wink:

I may actually do Easter dinner tomorrow being that I get to go to work on Monday and am planning to invite a couple good friends for dinner.

Robert

Same here . Cancelled a June vacation too . Happy you guys are staying safe .

We're in the same boat, haven't seen anyone for over a month. Most likely cancelling our mid-June trip to Flaming Gorge in Wyoming, starting to feel like we might not ever go anywhere again. RAY

I'm thinking we need a new Sub-Category for your stuff:

"Banquet Extravaganza" Would fit.

Just me, the She Beast and a 10# double smoked ham this year. Normally the kids and grandkids pop in and out all day, but not this year. I work Grocery and the She Beast works child care, that makes us very high risk. I don't think it's a matter of if we catch it, it's a matter of when. Otherwise good health, so not too worried. We have a few immuno-compromised members in the extended family and there is just NO WAY I will have any part in the Kids picking it up here and taking to them.
Till better times I just keep stocking up for quarantine cooking and keep a running list in my pocket of last minute fresh veggies to go in those cooks.

Easter is scrubbed. And so is June's vacation. Though if things change. I can reschedule that. Just the wife and myself. Won't be the same without the family.

Well, getting this back on track (apologies for the earlier derailment Richie) I decided heck with it, I'm gonna make a nice dinner for Tracy and I. A couple of friends have been invited but have not heard back from them yet. I've got a small 7 1/2 pound prime rib cut from the first of the 103 sub primal rib sections which I plan to do on the rotisserie of the Santa Maria. It's defrosting now. Tracy is devout Catholic and loves Easter, although it's never been a family thing with us scattered all over the country, but she's more than deserving of a top notch meal. Being that I get to go to work on Monday, we are giving consideration to having our Easter Sunday meal tomorrow so that time is available to relax and enjoy it. Hell with this pandemic....full grill ahead!! Not gonna let it stop us from having a good meal, we are just not gonna have tons of friends for this one...only two if they can make it. Typically I'd invite 6 or 8 people for a prime rib meal but this time around it's probably not a good idea.

Decision made finally,

Your meal sound wonderful hope we didn't ride ya to hard.
May You and Tracy have a HAPPY EASTER

Growing up we were not Catholic but just loved everything about Easter. It was probably our biggest family get-together believe it or not. Mom would always make an amazing meal, which included a REAL Smithfield Ham. We lived in VA and although incredibly expensive, they were easy to get...well sort of. Mom would drive 2-3 hours each way to Smithfield and get the ham. Then it would soak for a week with regular changes of water till the final day. Slow roasted and insanely good. There is no other ham like an authentic salt cured Smithfield.

Your meal sound wonderful hope we didn't ride ya to hard.

Friends decided to sit it out but I'm still gonna pull out all the stops. This will be one for the record books, at least my record book :emoji_wink: Fret not but thank you Richie. It was all in good fun and I had a blast with it. Nobody meant anything negative I don't think and I still chuckle when I think back on a couple comments folks made. Looks like they have my number :emoji_laughing:

May You and Tracy have a HAPPY EASTER

Once again I thank you sir. Same to you and yours!!

Robert

Late on this. But no Easter family celebration here this year. We will have something later if and when the air is clear. With the kids, grannies and great grannies we have 30 people and that's not counting others that may stop by.

The first Easter Sunday in sixteen years that I'll actually be home. Wife is thrilled.
We (church staff) recorded all four services (one Good Friday, three Easter) earlier this week to be live-streamed Friday eve (last night) and Sunday morning at our regular service times.
We'll have a houseful for dinner tomorrow night as all my sons live close by. Have a wonderful time wherever you find yourselves!

Beautiful sentiments Ryan and very well stated. Don't lose sight of what Easter is really all about, like so many people have totally forgotten what Christmas is all about. It's not Black Friday sales or economic indicators, or what's under the tree with your name on it.

As for us, Easter isn't something we can typically share with family. We are scattered all over the country and it's just not realistic to get together. Have no clue what I'm going to make for Tracy and i but it'll probably be low key and simple.

Y'all stay safe and have a great Easter!!
Robert

Amen! I know it is hard not getting together with fam and friends tomorrow... But still celebrate the day of Easter... Even if it’s your immediate fam. Take the time to really think about what HE done for all of us.

Easter is a big to do at my house, with the kids and grand kids egg hunting.Plus the feast that we usually have. It will be missed at my house this year! Anyone else cancel their Easter get together?
Richie
Stay safe

We love Easter at our house Richie, we treasure the holiday! We have also canceled plans...

Wishing you and yours a Happy Easter!

This should make it easier to not travel for Easter
