Been eyeing up Pulled Butt Ham recipes and gave it a shot. Thanks to Bearcarver's Step by Step, it came out excellent. Started with 3.5# boneless but. Cured using #1 cure and brown sugar. Smoked with applewood at 225* to IT of 205*. Put it in freezer. Pulled out and cooked in oven at 350* to 160* IT with some crushed pineapple. Pulled super easy. This made an awesome Easter dinner with some mashed potatoes/gravy and broccoli. This was simple and absolutely awesome. Big thanks to Bearcarver for the recipe. This is for sure on the make again list. Perfect flavor and I loved the shredded texture. Nice, simple meal during these crazy times. Stay safe all. Happy Easter!!!

Nice. Just so I get it.... this is the butt end (upper) portion of a rear leg raw ham that you cured, and then cooked it shred-able?
Pork shoulder/Boston butt. Like what you would use for pulled pork, only cured so it tastes like an amazing shredded ham. Super easy and highly recommended. My 5 year old just ate another plate full!

Thanks Bearcarver. I will check that out. I love all of your step by steps. Much appreciated.

Funny side note, I was using your bacon recipe the other day and trying one of my own. I have had the nickname Bear since childhood. It didn't work to write Bear bacon on both! Lol

Not sure how I missed this earlier. Nice job on the butt ham! I do them often when I'm in charge of the meat for big family get togethers . it really is a nice change from the traditional style hams. LIKE!
