I have always liked a nice soft pretzel. Sometimes with nacho cheese sometimes with mustard, and always with the pretzel salt. Ive made burgers before with pretzel buns from the store and had a few at restaurants but they were always missing something. The salt. They were always missing the salt. Well when i was at the store the other day getting some bread i saw a package of pretzel slider buns and inside the wraping was a little packet of pretzel salt. I thought to myself " finally somebody gets it!" So i grabbed a pack and some ground beef to make some sliders. For the toppings im going with mustard and nacho cheese. Those are the two things i really like with a soft pretzel. The buns were a little firm or on the dry side so i decided i would steam them as well. Here was the double stacked pretzel slider process....
These are the pretzel buns
I made 2oz pattys and cooked them in the big cast iron
I split the buns and brushed the tops with melted butter for the salt to have something to stick to.
Wife wanted mustard pickle and american cheese on hers
Mine are doubles with mustard,a slice of American between the pattys and then warm nacho cheese sauce after they come out of the steamer
Ready for the steam to soften up the buns and melt the cheese
once out of the steamer pot i poured on the warm nacho cheese and plated up with some leftovers...smoked mac-n-cheese with some chalula green hot sauce and smoked baked beans.
These things really hit the spot. Finally a burger on a pretzel bun that actually tasted like a nice salty soft pretzel! thanks for checking it out!
