Many talk about cold smoking pork belly etc... but i'm curious if anyone enjoys cooking store bought bacon in the smoker also.

I've cooked bacon on the grill, oven and pan but never in the smoker.  Thanks.

Keith, morning....   I have added smoke to store bought bacon, salt pork, pork shanks etc....    works for me.....  Dave

Oh so you gave it some cold smoking and then cooked it on the stove vs hot smoking it?

Both ways.....   As long as the bacon has nitrite in it....  I have even grilled bacon, with smoke, in a colander so the fat would render...  Cold Smoking and oven frying on a rack at 350 works very well....  Use a doubled sheet pan to set the rack in for oven frying so the bacon drippings don't burn...

Thanks Dave, i'll check but i assume most commercial bacon has nitrites in them.   Sunday morning i'll be cold smoking then frying some up!
