These things are a PITA to clean & I think I read that some don't bother cleaning them between smokes.  I would love to just let it go but my OCD is getting the better of me on this one.  Convince me I don't need to worry about cleaning them.

I used to clean mine till I got Q Mats from Todd.

Mine fit in the dish washer.  Pot and pans setting is all good.  Rib racks too.

That's what I did this last time was toss it in the dishwasher but the other times they were worser and I did it by hand.  Took me like an hour.  Yeesh.

They are cheap and easy to clean.

I tossed mine on the grill a couple times on high until the smoke cleared, then they wiped off really easily.  The last few times I just turned up the MES to 275* for a few more hours to clean up a bit and called it clean enough.

This might just be the easiest method yet.

For my smokers I soak mine in plain water for a few hours or even overnight. Hit them with a stiff nylon bristle brush. Easily cleans the mess but still leaves a layer of oily residue so no rust issues even if it is a while until your next cook. Keeps the Mrs. happy cause they look nice and clean.

For my grills, I crank up the heat to burn off the mess and hit em with a wire brush.

I leave them in after I finish cooking while the smoker cools down. Once cold they usually clean off fine with a stiff brush. I used to put them in the dish washer but I have now been banned from doing that

I just wire brush them after heat up and aftrr smoking. My wife doesn't complain, she says it builds immunity. She's a vet ans the dogs aren't sick , all good.

The only time i cleaned a rack was last week when i tried Cheese...place it right on the rack.

Gonna smoke some cheese tonight, might have to clean mine as I don't want grungy black stripes all over it.
