Do I need a chimney for cold smoking?

If I only do cold smoking, is it better to have a chimney or vents on the sides?  I don't really like the chimney I made, so I was thinking of putting two vents on either side of the gables.  Will this be ok, or should I leave the chimney alone?

Vents under the gabled ends will be fine...   In fact, better than a chimney....  They won't drip condensate on the food....    I like your smoke house...   very nice build...

Looking good... very nice build!
