The Wife was off , weather great and things starting out great ! Then , Trish said "Rolo needs to potty 'NOW' ! So I got things set right and went the three blocks to the Park (I have spoiled her by always going there , so . . . off we went ! ) .

Now this trip she decides to smell and pee on EVERY smel she came across ! ! ! Then she had to find to perfect place to poop , not twice as usual , but three times ! ! !

On the way home(finally) , I began to see billowing white smoke and noticed a strange odor !!! Needless to say ,I hurried as fast as I could to get the Dog in the house and go about saving my Ribs . . .

I pulled the temp. from a blazing 357*F to my normal 225*F , got the smoke ba k to TBS and began babysitting !

I managed to (kind of ) save them , with a bit of the patience I had left , (I know , patience is my motto , but ) . . .

Enough whining , here are the Q-views :

Oh , in my excitement of having something to smoke , I didn't get a package shot , and none of the seasoning and rubbing . I used a simple SPOG and placed them in the smoker .

, everything was fine until the Dog incidence :

a shot of the pull back . . .
and the temp . . .

when I did my bend test , they kind of broke . . .

the others LOOKED good , but not even close to my idea of GOOD Ribs !
I took the worst one (I didn't show it out of embarrasment ) and put it in the Chili we made the day before , did a great job flavoring that . . .

So here's the plate I ate :

This was a lesson in caring for a Stick Burner , I won't have that again , I've entered this into my BBQ Log as a reminder not to trust a working wood fired unit! ! ! !

They were good but a bit too done for my liking ! ! !

Sorry I got long winded , but I feel better now that I have confesed

Hope you enjoyed the show , and as usual . . .

Nice recover!!! Thems theres look like somes mighty fine eatins!!!

A full smoker is a happy smoker - only when babysat LOL

We all aspire to reach the heights that you consider a disappointment.

A fire breather IMHO offers a superior cooked meat but...... I have never been able to walk too far away from one while cooking. I always figured that was why Ice Chests were invented.

You need to teach the puppie what an empty 3 liter Mountain Dew bottle is for, "Road Trip".

There's nothing wrong with that disappointment that a little slaw and some beans won't cure. What a wonderful reminder that we can always eat our mistakes. They look really good to me.

Looks a little ruff around the edges...

I'm sure your baby and I would have no problem helping with the ribs.

As to finding a "perfect" place to poop, I have to circle around a few times too before I get to find my zen location...

1) 3 blocks to the park? Time to teach puppy to pee wherever is convenient for you. :dunno

2) While smoking, teach Momma that SHE can take the doggy to pee - you have another job to do! :wife: Just don't blame me when you tell her. :th_roflmao:

Oh no. 19 years married here. Not that I wouldn't offer to do it... but she'd just know that it wasn't wise for me to step away for something like that. :grilling_smilie:

Yeah, Just playing around. My wonderful Wife is very understanding. She's been with me a long time and we have two Pro Chef daughters. When it is cookin' time we focus and bang out food...JJ
