I’m fortunate enough to have a LSG 20x42 on Order. Total with shipping is just over 4200 (upgraded to 8” wheels, and added plancha/griddle and a few other upgrades. It’s not yet built but will be soon. Now having that second guessing and for 1300 less I could order a rectec bullseye deluxe with the matador pan, the recteq smoke griddle thing, and the flagship 1400 or dualfire. Or for 400 less I could do the bulleye, griddle, and the BFG-2500.

If you were in my spot what would you choose and why? I know the recteq will not outsmoke the LSG, but is it worth it over the variety I could get otherwise?

Just and FYI...
I have had the LSG 20x42 for over a year and it has a design flaw LSG won't admit to.
The RTD (pit probe 7) is mounted on the side wall by the burn pot.
Direct heat from the burn pot comes up that wall and causes a higher reading that is actually at the grate level.
The higher the set temp, the greater the difference from grate temp.
A work around is to put an ambient probe in a port (1 to 6) and put it at the grate level near where the food will be.
Then in the app, change the controlling probe to be port x instead of port 7.
Thank you Fireboard for the ability to do that!!!
Finding a plate of right thickness so temp was close to grate temp, and placing it over the opening would be another option.

They came out with a new port 7 probe that was longer and curved, but didn't help much.
Still can get 50 degree difference.

Also I did a pork shoulder a few days ago. It took about 38 pounds of pellets for the 12 hour cook.
Too expensive to use this time of year.

I have the small RecTeq and a bullseye and love the versatility of the two different grills.
Use the bullseye for week day and fast cooks and the trailblazer as a smoker.

I put a welding blanket on the trailblazer in winter. That smoker is very efficient on pellet consumption.
