I know this is discussing the pit boss but I had one about 4 years ago and I had nothing but issues with it, I was severely dissatisfied with it. I actually purchased a Louisiana Grills Pellet Smoker about 2 years ago and have not had a single issue. I’m not promoting them but it honestly has given huge results and great cooking/ smoking. It’s around $500 but I’m actually in the process of buying a second one so I can have a couple things going at a time I.e smoking brisket and also smoking salmon or suckling as well.

larger pellet hopper & Shelfs are the only thing that I can see that's different, have seen the flame shield mentioned a couple times. 5 year warranty unless they have changed

ive actually wanted a austin xl for awhile now. I just seen the pros at other places and curious on rhe differeces. il probably end up with a Austin xl

I was wondering if someone knew the difference in the pitboss smokers at walmart and the pitboss pros you get other places

This year, Walmart is carrying the Pit Boss Platinum Series Pellet Grills... It’s their newest release with many much needed upgrades over the older Pro Series which are found/sold at Lowe’s home improvement stores and the much older PB Austin XL which was sold at Walmart. The Platinum Series Pellet Grills comes with PID Controllers for super accurate temp control, an easier ash dump system, the KC COMBO is a duel pellet/gas grill, while the LockHart has more space and can hot smoke and cold smoke as well. Both come with 5 year warranties and go for about $750.00...

Most of the time the difference is just how many square inches of cook surface you're getting or the cart it's on. Many share the same augur and controller, but the model number is different because it has an upper cook grate or a fancier cart.

I have the kc combo and so far this is the happiest ive been with a new set up. I will say though, i wish the hopper feed the pellets differently. Some times the center opens up and it thinks there are no pellts when only used for a short session. Other then that I'm very pleased

Always run it with the hopper full of pellets and check the hopper every 4 plus hours to ensure the pellets are flowing properly. If you see the pellets starting to open up and tunnel, just stir them around a bit. The weight of a full hopper will help them to flow better and not have that problem. Good luck
