Did i score? $20 slicer "pic heavy"

So im driving home from work in the Big Crapple. Sitting at a stoplight there is a elderly Chinese lady having a sidewalk sale "like a gardge sale but one table lol". Anyway bright and shiny catches my eye "like most cave men who cook with fire". Pull over and there is this slicer. $20 buck and homeward bound we go. Did i get robbed?








Looks like the tab is broke

Cleaned up but still has some rust spots.

There is a coulpe things i noticed that were out of wack. This slicer compared to otheres ive seen seems to be built very well. The rubber feet are gone on the bottom. The tab is broke off on the slider. Some rust spots hear and there. It seems like a solid built "back in the day" slicer. it cleaded up nice.

I HAD one just like it!
I bought my parents that same slicer close to thirty years ago. It was great for the family low use thing. Then two years ago I was slicing pit beef for a Girl Scout fundraiser. I got called off slicer duty to check something. Someone else took over and not 15 seconds later, the slicer was broke! I hadn't walked ten feet away.
The plastic gear coming off the motor was wreaked. All the teeth were gone. He overloaded it.
So, take it nice and slow. Don't push the meat hard. It will not slice fast, but it will slice all day long.

No plastic gears that i found here. This semms to be an oldish model. Every thing on this is cast or stamped HD. not what you find now in stores. Not defending it in any way.
