so im surfing this local auction web site last night, that always seems to get me in trouble with the wife lol. And i come acrossed a Char Griller Competition Pro that i managed to pick up for $120. I also found a weber igrill2 thermometer for $13. The grill sells locally for $300 and thermometer for $99 so i think i made out well. But just curious if anyone has had any experience with either of my new scores. Ive red that the grill is best to do some mods to before even assembling which i plan on doing. At least sealing up all the leaks and extending the exhaust. Any othere advice or ideas would be very welcome. Hopefully this will be a fun addition to my arsenal. Aka Masterbuilt Pro electric 30”, Charbroild Commercial 6 burner gas grill and now the Char Griller Competition Pro.

Oh and lets not forget my 18.5” weber

Well i look forward to hearing from you guys

I bought it new and other than using a sealer (Permatex Red) at all connecting seams, no mods needed. I did use some scrap sheet steel to baffle the heat a little. The door fits snug.
The firebox tends to rust and it wants to run a little hot, but I’ve made some great chow. The Sweet Spot is just left of center...
I don’t know how whoever had it put it together, but for $120 you got a deal!
No, it’s definitely not a Lang, but if you can’t cook with it, get an MES.
