Kind of funny in away. A few days ago. The ice maker in our Samsung fridge just started to work again after about a year. Sitting in the livingroom. And I heard of clunk of a batch of ice dropping into the bin! Then a day later. The dishwasher started flashing a code. According to the Samsung site. The code states it's either pump is not running. It is. And draining water. The float could be stuck. And it wasn't. Checked with my meter. Works fine. Took front off. And found the mother board has scorch marks on it. Cleaned. And fixed a couple of cold solder joints. Nothing. About 6 years old. And toast. A new unit cost 200.00 more than the board. I'm done with Samsung. Found a good deal on the exchange for a Frigidaire unit. Not my first choice. But reviews were pretty decent. And price was really good.

I pulled my Samsung washer out a couple years ago, motor failed, put a new one in, worked for about 4 months, door starts leaking. Done, out. I bought a Bosch and never looked back, little pricey but whisper quiet, i forget its even running.

My opinion

Bosch has good stuff. Wasn't ready to spend upwards to 1K on a dishwasher though.

I don't like samsung or LG appliances of any kind. Also starting to dislike GE with the new fridges needing a water filter with a RFID to be used. Found a work around for that. The LED lights started to glitch after 3 years, they are hooked in series so when one goes out they all do. OE part is over a $100 and the unit could use up to 7 of them. Found 2 for $9.99 on Ebay and they are exact LED that came out of the fridge.....nothing lasts anymore.

Can't hardly say Samsung without some choice words , especially when it comes to the ice maker . After I replaced everything from the ice bucket to the mainboard , I got 2 1/2 years from it no issues . The only thing I didn't do was the flap on the ice chute . It's been a block of ice for at least a year ,,, then like you , I hear it dump a batch of ice . If you could choke a fridge I would have .
I did fix the evap drain dumping under the deli drawer and freezing a solid 2 " of ice .

Dishwasher is a GE built with this house . Gonna be 20 years old this coming April .
Range was the same . Replaced it 2 years ago , but was still working .

Been thinking about a Frigidaire fridge , and moving the Samsung downstairs .
Good luck on the dishwasher . Post up your thoughts on it after a few cycles . I'm most likely gonna need one soon .

Well that sucks Steve. Glad you moved away from Samsung. While their TV's are pretty good it's another story when it comes to their kitchen appliances. Daughter's fridge bit the dust after just a couple of years. Needless to say the replacement was not Samsung.
