cylinder smoke tube vs amaze smoke unit

Has the smoke tube become more liked than the maze tray? Seems to be a lot of them on the market.

I have both. The tube gets hotter when I use pellets. Heavier smoke too. The tray is used for dust. It creates a lighter smoke and not as hot as the tube. I use my tube and or tray for smoking cheese only. Hope this helps.

I understood the tube was for higher altitue and produces more smoke. But I'm just blowing smoke!!

Yep, the tube will produce more smoke. My smokehouse is 36 cu. ft. so I use 1 or 2 smoke tubes when cold smoking.
