I've got some material that I think I can make a smoker out of, but I can't decide on the design.  I have (2) 12" diameter pieces of SCH80 pipe that are 16" long with caps on one end.  I'm new to smoking and I don't know if it would be a waste of time to build with this or not. Below are the 5 options that I have come up with, but I could use some help.

Option 1) Use one as a horizontal firebox and the other as a horizontal smoker

Option 2) Use one as a horizontal firebox and the other as a vertical smoker

Option 3) Use one as a vertical firebox and the other as a horizontal smoker

Option 4) Use one as a vertical firebox and the other as a vertical smoker

Option 5) Make a separate firebox and use one or both as the smoker

They're pretty small for a build, that's just my thoughts, smaller builds are harder for many reasons.
It would be a neat little unit. I would go horizontal for both FB and CC.
