Had a busy day yesterday. FINALLY got the microwave changed out in the RV to a convection microwave. Had my youngest, and tallest kid come over to help. So, I had to feed him! Did a reverse sear on some tenderloins. Had with crab meat stuffed mushrooms and corn on the cob. Smoked in the pellet smoker to 120 then seared on a CI pan.

Not done yet. But test fitted the cooktop cover. Perfect fit.

Nice plate of food Steve ! That project looks awesome too bud .

Edit :
I've been using Watco Butcher block oil and finish ( all in one ) on spoons and kitchen projects that won't be used for cutting . Cures hard in 72 hours to a gloss finish , and food safe .

Really nice looking steak!

Second steak post I read today. That's it...................reverse seared steak it is tonight.

Out of curiosity, what's in the mushrooms?

Food looks amazing! Nice work on all that! Cook top cover is very cool. Never seen on before, love the idea.

I'm not tall, but I'd gladly come help for a meal like that!! Looks great Steve!
Thanks Charles!

Thanks! I've been using Howards butcher block conditioner. May try that at some point.

Thank you! Crab meat with mayo, eggs, lemon juice, white pepper, garlic, onion powder, and bread crumbs.

Thanks! A lot of people use noodle boards for covers. Which this basically is. Our cooktop has a folding glass cover that really doesn't make a good work surface. I couldn't find one that would fit without moving around. So I made this. Not to mention I wanted to try the new planer!

Actually. I just ordered a can. Sounds interesting.

Yup . Me too . Use the Howards on cutting boards , or anything that needs some touching up .

It has finish in it , so it drys to a hard gloss smooth surface . So if you're not going to be cutting on that cover , this stuff will be more durable than the Butcher block oil .
Couple examples . Howard's on the walnut spoon .
Completely cured and dry Watco on the Coffee wood .

It drys hard and smooth . Keeps that gloss . Should work great for setting stuff on that cover . Like a cold drink !

That looks amazing! This won't used as a cutting board. So it will be perfect. Thanks for the tip.
