Thank you! I can get them at the commissary for a decent price. Always keep three or 4 in the freezer.Birds look great Bill. I’m used to them being 2.50-3 bucks a piece. When they went 5-6 bucks I stopped buying. Really like them though and cooked a ton of them over the years.
You cooked those excellent.
They use to be a well kept secret, prices were decent. Then "bam" skyrocketed.Birds look great Bill. I’m used to them being 2.50-3 bucks a piece. When they went 5-6 bucks I stopped buying. Really like them though and cooked a ton of them over the years.

Thank you! I divide the kettle in half with bricks. Fill one side with coals, placed chickens on the "cold" side, vent over chickens. About 20 minutes, then turned. They were very good, crispy skin.THAT'S A FINE LOOKIN LITTLE BIRD, NICE WORK! I LIKE TO SPIN GAME HENS OVER THE KETTLE, NO TOP. ONE SEEMS TO MAKE A PERFECT MEAL WITH A SIDE OR TWO. RAY
That was the last time I made them. Boy Scout Camporee and an adult leader got a couple of them as prizes from a shoot at the gun club. He mentioned they would go for a Boy Scout event and all the others donated for the cause. I don't remember how many I got in the big dutch....
I prefer these over the ones I've done in a dutch oven using coals.

Yep. We love them, but I haven't bought them in many years because of the price...We love Cornish game hens. They are pricey though.
Thanks!Top notch cook Bill… man it’s been a while since we’ve had some game hens. Going to have to change that. Thanks for the thread and reminder.
