Thanks for posting that Ryan...have to admit I got a tear in my eye as the video played.

I've always been a fan of Kent Rollins' videos. Always just a genuine, humble man. This one makes me respect him even more. It has said this in my signature for years...but bears repeating here:

God Bless Our Troops and Their Families!

I've always liked him as well. And even more now.

Well damn that just choked me up. Thanks for sharing that!
Glad to see I wasnt the only one. As a society I think we have become numb seeing about conflicts via the media. We tend to forget that there is someones son, father, brother, etc on the dirty end of the stick.
God bless our troops and their families!

So much senseless blood and loss and injuries that cant be seen just passing by.

I worked in the field of deep ocean salvage and recovery on the U.S. Navy Deep Drone for 5 years (Don't buy the public stats, thats "misinformation", the Navy never states its actual capabilities). We were civilian contractors, not actual military, but some of the jobs were pretty rough; some spook work, test weapon recovery, aircraft crash location and recovery...some carnage.

When I came home from a mission, it was weird. First, you see everyone going about their daily routines, clueless about what you had just witnessed and participated in, then you realized, they WERE clueless! How could they not be? It was hard to get people to even imagine what we did and how we did it...it was easier to just not bring it up. But you hold this stuff inside, and relive it for quite some time.

Multiply that by a heck of a lot and you have soldiers (which we worked alongside with on some jobs), some may feel "unlucky" enough to have made it back. What combat soldiers carry for life, if they lived, is unimaginable. I have gotten over (mostly) the visions and smell of dead bodies, the smell of the diesel and grease of the ships mixing with sea air, etc.. I cant imagine how a combat war vet ever gets the stuff they saw, and did, out of their mind. I still have flashbacks at times and I didn't even carry a gun. Feared for my life a couple times, but never had to take a life.

God bless them, and I want to apologize to them for the senseless meat grinders this country has sent them into since WW2. I wish for peace for their bodies and minds. And I wish for strength for their families, for they just do not understand.

What it must be like to look into that soldier's desperate eyes...or mentally dead eyes (if they actually made it home), and be completely unable to understand what's behind them. They are no longer the people that left for the theater of the war.

Memorial day is for the dead, but I still like to keep the living vets and POW/MIA in my mind and also keep the dead in mind on Veterans Day.

That brings Kent's love of the flag to the heart. I also love watching his videos because he is one of the guys I would hang out with in my hunting days with my dad. We always had our own "Kent" on those trips. My dad is still here, we just don't hunt anymore.

I always love when the dogs get a treat and always look forward to the happy dance at the end of his videos.

Our "Kent" would set up a tent so we could eat in comfort.
