Don't y'all have carbon steel and cast iron skillets? If my Noni didn't use it at home or in the family restaurant, I don't need it at home, is how I try to decide what to buy.
But then again, Noni could've out cooked most people just using her one old beat up knife, and a C.I. skillet.

It's funny what we think we need to prepare good food these days.
I have both carbon steel and cast iron skillet. One of the reasons I was having hard time buying Hexclad pans. I got mine yesterday. Looking forward to using them.

I have a cast iron skillet. I use it when its too cold to fire up the propane grill.

It's funny how people concern themselves with what other people have or what they think others should or should not have.

The pots and pans are fantastic. I made a tuna noodle casserole in the big pan last week and a cheeseburger casserole this morning. Nothing stuck in the pan and it was easy to clean with no scrubbing.

I made a rotini w/ italian sausage as well in tha 5 qt pot. Nothing stuck to the bottom.

In contrast my old set burned and stuck to the bottom of the pot every time.

I have yet to use the grille pan, the square, omelette pan, square frying pan, 14" frying pan, roasting pan or the vegetable steamer and sauce pan. The cookie sheets, bread tray and muffin pans will all get used in due time this January and February.

Over New Year's I plan to do a 4 bone standing rib roast recipe I have been dying to try. This will be done in the oven with the roasting pan.

In closing, I'm happy with everything I bought. Less scrubbing of burnt things or things that stick makes cooking more enjoyable and rewarding and I can make everything I desire when I want to.
