I have long had my eye on Gordon Ramsey's Hexclad cookware set. I've been desperately needing a quality set of pots and pans for my kitchen. I've been using garage sale and family hand me downs for years.

This morning I chose to punt on the Hexclad idea after reading this on reddit. This just saved me $1,000 at least and a lot of headache too.

Hexclad is also the source of a major lawsuit regarding teflon and PFAS.

In the long list of comments I saw someone posted a video review about the top cookware.

After watching the video, rewinding a few times and reading the grades and comparing I settled on a new Granitestone Diamond cookset. I got the blue set off Amazon for $199 ($210 out the door with free shipping). For that price, I'm elated with the quantity of what I got as well as the quality. I could have gotten the black speckle set for $30 less but I'm a sucker for blue so I said why not. Merry [early] Christmas to me.

Granitestone had the best grades across the charts, best no stick, best even heat distribution and the best hardness of the finish/no scratch. No PFOA, no PFAS, No PFOS and no teflon.

I wish they had cookie trays and bread trays sold separately so I could add several of each but oh well nothing is ever perfect or 100% the way you want it.

Anyways, I'm totally excited about the new set.

Mods: If this needs to go somewhere else please feel free to move it. I wasn't really sure where to put it. Or maybe we need a Cookware Reviews and Discussion sub-forum area?

On a side note. We bought this set for our new camper.

We were renting a cabin this summer while looking at camp sites. And they had this cookware in it. I was pretty impressed with it. There were some negative reviews. That to me sounded more like misuse. I'm sure it'll be more than enough for the use we'll put them through. And if they hold up. I'll get a set for home. Ours are showing their 40 years of use and abuse.

Now all I need is the 14" pan and some more bread trays and cookie baking sheets and I'll be set.

I been really happy with most the granite cookware I have had. I have had a red set for several years now that still holding up good. I did buy one of those Granitestone 10 Inch Non Stick Frying Pan on sale and about the only one I not been happy with. Scratches really easy but might just have been the one I got.

We bought the 12 piece Hexclad set then added the deep pan. LOVE THEM! the best cookware I have ever owned. Worth every penny and then some. Their customer service is insanely good too. One small pot looked like one of the "dots" had fallen off. So i sent a pick just to see what would happen - they had a replacement in the mail same day no questions.

Here is a recent write up

I'm guessing it's a preference thing... we have a couple members here that have Hexclad and love them. I don't have either brand so have no opinion on them. There are all types of people in this world leaving reviews ( my nice way of saying idiots). So don't put much faith in them. Even less faith in an article written by a lady from France writing about a lawsuit coming out of California... where everything causes cancer. Add to that at the end of the article it says " more about the author " when click on that it brings up a page says... access denied.
Look forward to your review of your new cookware! Especially as Steve H Steve H says you're becoming quite an enabler! :emoji_blush:

Costco has the best prices i can find on Hexclad. They are my favorites so far. Had Swiss Diamond and Ninja pans prior (most recent ones). Don’t want to sound like a fanboy, so I’ll just say try it you might like it and Costco takes everything and anything back for a full refund.

I love cooking on a gas range and prefer it for the true efficiency factor.
Our Florida residence is a radiant electric range and those are terrible.
I purchased an induction countertop unit and discovered something amazing. I actually prefer this to gas. Just as fast to heat up and it cools off much faster. Much easier to control temperature. We lucked out that all of our cookware is induction friendly.
I love cooking with gas. But our silly b!tch NY governor. Is trying to ban gas appliances. It's on hold now.

Of all the problems in the world, why in the F do gas ranges matter!
The story being sold to the general public is poor indoor quality. Plus the added danger of catastrophic fire due to a gas leak.

Pushing deeper into what the lobbyists are paying the politicians to believe I come up with a different theory.
With the push to change coal fired power plants to natural gas they need more reserves to keep the electricity flowing.
Well the all electric house (also part of the NY Green) is not environmentally friendly which tells you how environmentalists (et al) are misinformed. Let's replace all the gas appliances that are 70% or more efficient with electricity. Electric powered appliances are only 30% efficient. (They are not 99% efficient as the label states) Power plants expel (throw away) 2/3 of the energy burned to produce electricity so they 33% efficent. Transmission from the plant to your house loses another 2%. Electricity is only 31% efficient compared to your 70% or more gas appliance.

Sorry for the long reply. I'm a pragmatic Propulsion Engineer
Sorry for the extended hijack Hannah
