I recently got a smoker from someone who said it works. After plugging the unit up. I turned it on. But the temp and time button dont do anything. Is it a bad control panel?

Sounds like it, some of them have a fuse so dont count it out till you ck it out

Sorry I believe it's a 20070411. Its actually a friends and I'm 99 percent sure that's the model number.

Looks like a Gen1 model from what I can tell from pics I found online.That particular model came with an old school RF remote...do you have the remote?If you do give it a try.

A more expensive but better option would be to add a PID controller via a simple rewire:

The Gen1 models are highly desirable as they have the rails on the bottom left to place an Amazen pellet tray.
