So.. I've been poking around and now find that I'm definitely interested in getting back into smoking.. how do I know, 'cause I keep thinking about what type of new smoker I should get... :)

Previously, I've owned a Landman GOSM (both the vertical and 38" wide), Traeger 100, and Weber Smokey Mountain 22" with the Cajun Bandit addons. Currently in the 'looking' stages of getting a smoker..

Totally like the fact that pellet and propane smokers are set and go, versus the stick burners which I'll have to monitor.. (abet my Weber SM with the Pitmaster IQ attached was a no brainer, and held 225 to 250 for 9 hours at a time.. ) I'll be heading over and reading reviews on the different smokers although I'm thinking about a pellet smoker at the final end with the quality of the food and other convivences.

OH.. yea.. almost forgot, I was a member here several years ago and did buy the rub and sauce recipe.. which I tweaked and won a 1st place in sauce. Other awards were a 1st in chicken and 2nd and 3rd in Ribs.., these were in California, in sanctioned cookoffs (i live in Texas now).

Ya'all have a GREAT day,

Ron-

Welcome back, the 7 years of withdrawal must have been rough. I couldn't do it:)

its hard to eat over cooked bbq... which i find at all bbq joints, even here in tx i've found that even the most respected establishment mostly have over cooked meats. how sad eh?
