I'm going to have to post a turtle kill and cook this summer. Been years since I've had turtle.

Not sure where Whitewater SP is located. SE MN is my guess as that was the range for pygmy rattlesnake
Kinda been Winona and Rochester south of I90. I know farmington middle schoolers go there for a weekend every year.

Same here lol. Cut the line and retie. No thanks turtle.
I have friends and neighbors who try to catch them on purpose to eat them. Yeah, no thanks. Never have I eaten turtle in my almost 60 years and I'm good with that.

Recently, within the last few years, that area got decimated by floods. It's hardly recognizable to what it was. Sad story but it's nature I guess.
My brother and family go at least once sometimes twice a year, hasn’t said anything and the pics look good so I surmise the park at least is OK.👌

I said the same about gator until I lived in Florida for a year and met a really good dude who was the mechanic for my ready mix plant and his grandpa's recipe. Yup, changed this Yankees mind. I still want that exact cook but never gonna get it again. Was over 20 years ago.

Turtle is really good meat. PIA to process.
Take a trip to Jasper Indiana as local places used to have turtle soup

DougE DougE me either but I happened to run one over with a cement mixer. Mechanic looked at the truck, fixed the air line. Turns looks at me and says hey gimme a hand. About hand with what? The gator? Oh hell no I'm not touching that. He said he'd cook it for me.... damn not you're talking my language. We became petty good friends lol.

Wow! Did they lose the truck? Or get it out?
It’s out but unknown condition, my brother thinks it will be totaled… had some firefighters nearby fishing saw it break through, came over and helped them get out. These contraptions were used to get the truck out. Of course my brother put new tires on 2 weeks ago 😫

Is it drive able? Didn't look like too much water in the engine bay.

yeah, white out driving is not fun...lots of lake effect snow off of lake Ontario from my schooling at SUNY Oswego, NY.
As a teenager, I worked as a wingman on a snow plow.

One night we were plowing in a pretty good squall. In the early morning before sunrise, we were on a side road and the visibility was zero. Driver called into the town barn on the radio and said we were stopping in-place until we could see...

We took turns sleeping for awhile until the sun came up and the snow stopped.

We had veered off of the road and into a field and didn't even know it!

Blizzard of '77 is the one I remember most.... Now THAT was a storm!

Same here.. We lived a few miles from Lake Ontario (Albion, NY) so we got the lake effect... We dug tunnels/party rooms in the snow drifts... Partied in the room and then go out and ride our sleds... Snow drifts had a tractor trailer buried from one end to other... Rode our sleds up over top of it (end to end) ...

MAN... Those were the days... We had snow days quite often ..

Home of Oswego Speedway....

My sister worked/retired from SUNY Brockport, NY ...
