I had my Oklahoma Joe Highlander smoker for a few years and at the end of last year I must have got some bad wood as on my last burn all of a sudden white smoke came pouring out and would not stop. I was at partially at fault as I had a few splits left and just threw them in to end the season. Ok, question, this season I want to take everything out and thoroughly clean everything! Should I use just ordinary Dawn soap and a dish scrubber? After I am done I will run a empty trial run in order to reseason the smoker.

I just bought a Bradley Smoker and cooked fish and chicken. I cleaned the drip tray and took off the top of my finger one finger. The louvers are like knives so it you do clean them wear really tough gloves.

I used a razor blade window scraper to clean my Weber. Works very well and doesn't need a bunch of elbow grease like a soap and water solution would.
