First time for turkey - brined it prior to smoking; put rub under and over skin.  Then put water / apple juice mixture in the water pan.  Came out nice smokey and moist! :)
 
Nice colour! Looks really good, I've always wanted to try a smoked turkey.
 
Good lookin bird. Brining is only way to go, never put rub on first though. I usually just put a little garlic butter on breast and no rub. Keep it savory.
